Actiform

Helping build on Actiform's growth, with a new digital experience.

Insight, Before Action

We’ve worked with Actiform, a modular building manufacturer based in West Yorkshire, since 2019.

Back then, their brief was simple. Here’s how they put it:

“We’ve been around nearly 45 years. We’re losing out to companies who are great at marketing but don’t manufacture themselves, and don’t have our operational consistency. Our perception in the market is holding us back from becoming a main contractor.”

So we rebranded Actiform and built them a whole new marketing toolkit, sales collateral and a new website included.

It worked. The rebrand helped Actiform earn a seat at the main contractor table, and revenues grew from around £13-15 million before the rebrand to over £40 million.

Since that last version of the brand and website, Actiform has evolved even further. They started out manufacturing modular buildings. Today they’re an off-site construction company, where modular is just one part of the process. They get involved far earlier too. They’re no longer only a manufacturer, they help shape the strategy and design of a project, and advise on the finance that brings developments to life.

Brand Evolution

Actiform had grown up. They’d moved up the value chain, and now needed to be seen for what they’d become: advisers and consultants brought in at the very start of a project, not just a manufacturer called on later. So we started by auditing the brand we’d built for them in 2019.

Our recommendation was to make it quieter. Less in your face. The logic was simple. First time round, the job was awareness, Actiform needed to get noticed. This time, the job was confidence, the kind that makes a client trust you with a £10 million project.

So we dialled it down. We softened the bright green, used the symbol more sparingly across their digital comms so the brand felt less abrupt, and brought in a new colourway and typeface. Every change pulled in the same direction: a more serious, more credible player.

Service Design

To bring Actiform’s broader offer to life, we broke their services into four clear pillars. It makes it easy for a client to see exactly where Actiform adds value at each stage of a project, and where they fit in.

Before After

Before we started working with Actiform in 2019, turnover had plateaued at around £6.5 million.

After the rebrand, it jumped to £20 million by 2021, as the market saw them as a different firm.

Today, it stands at £43 million - more than six times where it started.
