The Insight
Creative Scene is an arts project that commissions programmes and produces projects in North Kirklees, West Yorkshire. They tasked Smith with delivering a brand that reached out to all – both in print and digitally.

It was necessary to shake off the perception that art was something belonging to one particular age, gender or class. Art and creativity belongs to us all; there’s no monopoly. To convey this, the new identity wasn’t to reference existing artworks or arenas.
What we Did
- Brand identity
One of Creative Scene's first events attracted over 2000 people. The majority of attendees were typically non-arts goers. Creative Scene are changing perceptions towards art in North Kirklees.
Execution
The new brand was warming and inclusive. Requiring to work over a number of mediums, and across umbrella organisation’s websites, the updated logo went on to adorn posters, emails and social media posts across the district.
We've all been hugely impressed by Smith. They've created a brand for Creative Scene that nails the brief completely. From start to finish, they've been dedicated to quality and attentive to detail. They've been on hand to recommend suppliers, solutions and approaches to help us at the all-important start-up phase of a new organisation.
